Understanding Coaching
Solutions for a Brighter Tomorrow
Know the relationship, ask questions, and make an informed choice.
What Coaching Is
Coaching is a collaborative, reflective, goal-oriented relationship in which the client helps define the direction. The coach offers questions, structure, discussion, and accountability within the agreed scope. The client makes decisions and chooses actions.
Coaching, Consulting, and Other Services
Coaching supports your reflection and decision-making. Consulting can include analysis, recommendations, and defined deliverables agreed in a service schedule or statement of work. Mentoring draws on experience; advice provides suggestions. These roles should be identified clearly rather than assumed.
Coaching is not therapy, medical care, diagnosis, psychiatric counseling, or legal or financial representation. Any separate professional service requires the appropriate scope and authorization.
The Three MDAS Pathways
S.R.C.
Client-directed reflective dialogue about personal priorities, meaning, interpretation, and self-understanding. S.O.U.R.C.E. may inform the work; adopting its premises is never required.
Wellness Coaching
Support for everyday wellness routines, habits, priorities, planning, and personal accountability, without clinical treatment or prescriptions.
Business Coaching & Consulting
Coaching explores leadership and client decisions. Consulting may include defined analysis, recommendations, deliverables, and project milestones.
Coach and Client Responsibilities
The coach facilitates agreed work with respect, honest communication, reasonable care, clear boundaries, and attention to individual differences. The client chooses objectives, communicates preferences and limits to the extent comfortable, and remains responsible for their decisions. No particular personal, health, professional, or financial outcome is guaranteed.
Your Direction, Your Boundaries
You choose the questions, goals, values, and priorities you wish to explore. You may disagree, ask for a different pace or communication format, pause, redirect, or decline an exercise. Discuss accessibility and communication preferences before scheduling; orientation remains available while you decide whether to proceed.
Consent, Privacy, and Remote Sessions
Read the service-specific orientation, approved agreement, completed service schedule, privacy information, and remote-session acknowledgment before agreeing. Ask questions before you sign. Consent to coaching does not authorize marketing, research, testimonials, recording, transcription, screenshots, or AI meeting assistants.
Remote delivery uses a mutually agreed platform. Discuss accessibility, a suitably private setting, technical interruptions, and the appropriate contact route. Remote systems and confidentiality have practical limits; provider and record-handling details must be explained before private intake. Specific recording or AI-tool use requires separate permission.
S.R.C.: Consultation Before Payment
For new S.R.C. clients, read this orientation, then request your initial 30-minute consultation. There is no charge, including if you decide not to continue. Discuss goals, fit, boundaries, and questions with Meichyl. If you proceed, review the applicable S.R.C. agreement and acknowledgments and complete consent and required signatures before coaching. Then choose your paid session or intensive and request a time; Stripe collects payment with the booking request. Meichyl confirms the coaching appointment and provides remote-session details. The initial consultation is included once per new client and is scheduled separately from the 60-minute coaching session.
S.R.C. Intensive: Your Coaching-Time Allocation
The $1,500 intensive purchases twelve coaching hours, scheduled flexibly by mutual agreement. Your included initial 30-minute consultation does not use those hours. Completed coaching time is recorded against the allocation; scheduled appointments are tracked separately. Complimentary courtesy extensions are not deducted. Meichyl checks remaining time before confirming further appointments. The completion target is sixteen weeks from the first coaching session, with unused time reviewed individually and no automatic forfeiture. Additional paid time requires prior agreement at an approved rate; no overrun is charged automatically. Installment billing is not active.
Cancel the intensive with at least 48 hours’ notice before your next session. A $50 cancellation fee applies. Completed coaching time is recalculated at $150 per hour; the remaining balance from your $1,500 payment is refunded after those deductions. Refunds are reviewed and processed manually. Email meichyljaymz@gmail.com to request cancellation and a refund. No automatic forfeiture of unused hours is applied at the sixteen-week completion target.
Other Engagements: How We Begin
Every engagement begins with a conversation. Share what you hope to explore; together we can determine whether the service is an appropriate fit, discuss format and scope, and clarify any fees and session arrangements before paid work begins.
- Send a brief inquiry.
- Review fit, objectives, and scope together.
- Discuss orientation and questions before deciding to proceed.
- Review the relevant intake, approved agreement, privacy information, and remote-session acknowledgment.
- Schedule the agreed service and receive private session instructions.
Intake and agreements are provided after the initial review. Sending an inquiry does not create a paid engagement or confirm an appointment.
Questions Worth Asking
- What service and scope are we agreeing to?
- What are the format, fees, cancellation and rescheduling arrangements?
- What information is necessary, who can access it, and how long is it retained?
- How do I receive copies of the approved documents?
- What happens if I need to pause, change direction, or end participation?
- What accessibility or communication arrangements can we discuss?
